Collection Focus

Beit Rishonim: The Pardes Hana-Karkur History Center

Beit Rishonim Pardes Hana-Karkur - a collection of objects, a historical archive and a center for documenting the history of the colony and its founders. The building itself is a historic building that was established in 1930 as a kindergarten, and over the years it was also used as a community center and a synagogue. Along with the historical displays and collections, there is also a changing exhibition of art and photography.

The emblems of the tribes of Israel are varied, and change with the times and the artists. The emblem of the tribe of Reuven in Israeli art is rather a rising sun over the sea, and not the traditional mandrake. A sufficient explanation is yet to be found; the best yet is that Reuven's land is in the east, where the sun rises. Are you familiar with a better reason? Let us know.
